From the design of its facility to its dorms, UBC Vancouver is committed to providing an open, inclusive and accessible environment for all guests of Forward 2024. The campus includes open spaces, ramps and elevators throughout.
- Captioning will be available in the plenary on your mobile device. Please scan the QR code on screen to open the captioning service and view the live captions.
- There are two banks of elevators inside The Nest. One is located at the north entrance; the other is located at the south entrance. The elevators are noted in green on the map on page 9.
- Single-stall accessible all-gender washrooms are available throughout the venue. The campus includes open spaces, ramps, and elevators throughout.
- A designated quiet space — located in Room 2521 — will be available throughout the weekend, open 8am - 6pm Sat, 8am -1pm Sun
- Forward 2024 is a scent-free event. Please refrain from wearing strong perfumes or scented products.
- As part of the BC NDP’s commitment to the Period Promise campaign, complimentary menstrual products will be available in washrooms located on the second floor of the Nest.

Learning Streams
We’re doing things a little differently for Forward 2024 to make your development sessions even more useful and relevant — by tailoring them to the type of role you might have during this fall’s election campaign. Courses in each stream are designed to give you the knowledge and experience you need to excel in these roles and help re-elect a majority BC NDP government.
Your class schedules and room assignments will be shared with you at registration. For more information, visit the Development Sessions info booth in the Great Hall Foyer on level two.
Campaign Manager
This weekend you will learn about key aspects related to the role of campaign manager for the election this fall. We will be covering campaign management fundamentals, working with campaign budgets, working with a regional model, campaign communications and messaging, managing your team, and digital best practices with Beth Becker!
Financial Agent & Fundraiser
Financial agents and fundraisers are the unsung heroes of BC NDP campaigns! This weekend will provide an overview of campaign finances, from raising funds to spending & reporting them. This course stream will cover fundraising tactics and channels & campaign budgets, as well as an in-depth look at our new campaign finance reporting portal for Elections BC financial reports.
Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Organizer
How do we get supporters to show up to the polls? This weekend GOTV Organizers will learn about key tactics and best practices for GOTV. There will also be an overview of new technology that will be used at polling stations and how to recruit volunteers, so you can leave the weekend ready to support your local campaign GOTV efforts.
Local Campaigner
Participants in the local campaigner stream will learning everything from how BC NDP campaigns run, to specific volunteer tasks and how they fit into the bigger picture. Course content will also cover what tools and materials volunteers can expect to use while doing the important work of talking to voters during the election. After this weekend you will be ready to support your local candidate or a neighbouring battleground riding this fall!
Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteers are our BC NDP superpower. This weekend you will learn all about training and scheduling a team of volunteers, plus best practices to build and retain a team where everyone is valued and has a role during the campaign.
Voter Contact Organizer
The number one job of a local campaign is talking to voters. This stream will cover tools, targeting, outreach beyond voter ID, and best practices for recruiting a team of voter contact volunteers. This weekend will prepare you to take on a role as a voter contact organizer in the pre-election or election period.
Candidate
Candidates are the face of the BC NDP at the local level. This invite-only session for new and returning candidates will help you brush up the skills that will help you succeed on the doors, in the media, and on the phones. Candidates will have the opportunity to network, share tips and tricks, and learn from each other and experienced campaign staff.
Childcare
We are pleased to offer free on-site childcare in Room 2504 for Forward 2024 attendees and their families during plenary and development sessions throughout the weekend. The welcome reception and all meals served in the Great Hall are family-friendly. Please note: Advance registration was required.
